The forum platform (Higher Logic Vanilla) has shipped a steady stream of improvements over the first half of 2026. Here's a roundup of the member-facing features now available.
Follow the people and topics you care about
- Follow other users — You can now follow another member straight from their profile or user card, and choose whether you'd like in-app and/or email notifications about their new discussions and comments.
- Follow tags — Follow any tag to get notified whenever a new post is published with it. If you only care about a specific library, API, or topic, this is a lightweight way to stay in the loop without watching the whole forum.
- Clearer filtered views — When you filter a discussion list, the applied filters now show clearly in the page header.
Recognition & content
- Earn badges by joining the conversation — Admins can attach a badge to a discussion so you earn it simply by commenting in that thread (once per discussion). Keep an eye out for these!
Improved UX
- Accessibility improvements — A round of platform-wide accessibility work across navigation, forms, labels, and assistive-technology support makes the forum easier to use for everyone.
Your privacy & transparency
- Export your own data — You can download your personal information and profile activity as a JSON file from Edit Profile → Account & Privacy Settings.
- Clearer moderation — If a post is removed, you'll now see a clearer notice (content shows as a placeholder rather than silently vanishing), get clearer email/in-app notifications, and have a structured way to appeal a moderation decision.
