Mesh generation failed on VDI, Mesh generation successful on local Machine

Dear Ansys-Team,

I work a lot with Ansys ACT and Mechanical and when developing an internal tool I noticed the following.
I use Ansys v232 and ACT on my local computer for rapid development. When I create a model with my ACT (Geometry with SpaceClaim), the mesh generation parameters are created automatically. If I now generate the mesh on the local computer, the mesh is also generated (Mechanical, Static Structural).

If I run the ACT tool for Ansys v232 on the VDI, everything is created exactly the same as on the local computer, but the mesh generation fails.

What could be the reason for this?

Kind regards

The Mechanical meshing algorithm has inherent randomness. So it is possible that the exact same model will mesh successfully on one environment and fail on another. In fact it is possible for the same model to intermittently fail on the same environment. But if you are seeing the same model consistent mesh in one environment and fail on another, then more likely there is a difference in defaults on the machines.

Have you tried moving the models generated on each machine to the other machine to see if the mesh succeeds/fails in the other environment?

I suggest you use the tool here to compare the 2 versions of the model for any unknown differences in settings.

Thanks for the fast reply. I checked the differences and there were some differences on the virtual desktop. Therefore I changed the setup and now there are no more differences except the ID in the *.xml comparison file. But anyway, still the problem with meshing on local pc and not meshing on virtual machine.
