How to retrieve solution when Mechanical quits but APDL finishes?

Hello,

I ran a simulation in Mechanical the other day, and during the run Mechanical closed for some unknown reason. Even so, the APDL solver finished and even wrote a solve.out file indicating the solution had finished. However, all the temporary files were not moved from the _ProjectScratch folder (the SYS-# folder is empty). I thought I could do the move manually, and so I moved all the files from _ProjectScratch into the SYS-# folder. This did not work, however, because when I opened Mechanical it still said that a solve was needed.

How can I avoid doing a complete resolve?

Thanks!

Hello @Figeneer , please note that this is not a scripting related query. Please use Ansys Innovation space for posting these questions in the future.

In any case, you can simply read the result file (file.rst), by clicking on Solution (in Mechanical Tree) and go to the Solution Ribbon (on top in the Toolbar) and go to Read Result File --> By Copy, and go to the folder where the results files are located and then you will be prompted for a unit system. Once the results are loaded, you will get a green check in Mechanical.

Let me know if this helps.

    Thank you.

I hadn't realized this was a specialized forum. I will look for that in the future. I tried to delete the question but I don't see how. Thanks again!
