buckling analysis

I need to perform a buckling simulation in Ansys Mechanical to determine where and at what force a specific body will fail. My components consist of an ejector or shaft (200 mm) that is guided halfway into a component with a diameter approximately 1 mm larger than that of the shaft. The end of the ejector should be fixed, meaning no axial displacement is allowed. The force is applied to the head of the ejector.
I initially tried using Eigenvalue Buckling, but no matter how I defined the contact regions, the shaft always deflected into the guide as if the guide did not exist.
My second approach was to apply a slight lateral force and use a Static Structural analysis to identify the buckling point and critical buckling force based on extreme deformation/deflection. Unfortunately, I was also unsuccessful with this.
Can someone please help me?

Hi @Hannes thanks for your question. This forum is specifically for questions regarding scripting and/or development using Ansys Developer tools. If you have a scripting question please include some details regarding code you have tried and documentation you have already considered. Otherwise you might find more luck over on the Ansys Innovation Space forum, which is specifically for non-developer questions.
