You can do that by using scripts below.
This code traverses all edges in the model and select the edge parallel to the x-axis.

geometry = ExtAPI.DataModel.GeoData
assemblies = geometry.Assemblies
assemblies_count = assemblies.Count

selmgr.ClearSelection()
